Plex Buffering for Both Internal and External Users

Plex Docker Version: 1.42.2.10156
Image: linuxserver/plex:latest

Did something recently change with Plex that could be contributing to buffering for both internal and external users? Both internal and external users are receiving the message: “Your connection is not fast enough to play this video.” This is a recent issue, and I’ve tried both the LinuxServer and PlexInc Docker images. I’ve also built a new Ubuntu virtual machine and moved the entire Plex directory over to it, but the issue still occurs.

The virtual machine server, Proxmox, has dual 1 Gbps links, in a port-channel, to my Cisco switch, and the Synology NAS has dual 1 Gbps links to the same Cisco switch, also in a port-channel. This setup has not changed in years. The only recent differences are the Plex image update and changing my password after the security breach email. I’m at a loss as to how to troubleshoot this further.

Proxmox users have been reporting issues

I’ve not had any difficulty here but Proxmox is not my main server.

Think perhaps the best step here is to:

  1. Confirm DEBUG Logging is enabled.. SAVE if you make changes
  2. Restart PMS
  3. Let it become stable (2-3 minutes)
  4. Now start a LAN playback and recreate the failure
  5. Download the server logs.
  6. Attach that server ZIP file here

Hi @ChuckPa thanks for the response. The debug file has information like my viewers full name. Is there a way for me to get this file directly to you? Also, this time Plex just up and stopped the video. No warning messages or anything until after the video stopped. The message was, “Can’t continue playback because the connection with your server was lost”. At the time two users were watching externally and were also bumped off. When it happened I want over to Tautulli and it was reporting the server was unreachable. Tautulli and Plex run on the same servers as docker containers.
