Since you say parts of the show are being cut out, I’m assuming that you are set to “Detect and delete commercials”. You may want to go into Plex Web->Settings->Live TV & DVR, click on “DVR Settings” and change “Detect Commercials” to “Detect Commercials and mark for skip”. With this alternate setting the entire show is kept, so if part of the show is marked as a commercial you can still manually find the end of the commercial segment and aren’t missing out on parts of your show.
In regards to commercial skipping accuracy, are you still running the default comskip.ini? If so then you may want to look at adding your own custom comskip.ini - see near the bottom of this article.
Commercial skipping is never going to be 100%, but with an improved comskip.ini it can be made more accurate. I’ve been using a custom comskip.ini for several years, but recently noticed that accuracy was getting worse and have had success with yet another custom comskip.ini. What you should use is specific to your location/nationality, but a good place to start can be this comskip forum link.
Yes correct using “detect and delete”. Just odd that it has been working pretty good for quite a while. Some shows are better than others I have noticed.
Yes, using default comskip.ini. I will look into changing it and see if that helps.
I’m looking into a custom comskip. But I can’t find where comskip.ini is stored and also can’t find any comskip logs.
Running Plex on Synology DSM7.
Looked at /volume1/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server and don’t see any comskip items
