Plex can’t find Servers even on host computer

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395-10d48da0d
Player Version#:

Late last night my Plex went offline and couldn’t find out why until I got home from work. When I got home I found that my Plex server was still running but could not be seen on any device including host computer on any address. I’ve gone through a few different support pages and have not been able to solve my problem. The only thing I can think of is that my devices are all unauthorized for some reason and I can’t find out how to fix it.

The server on your account got removed about 23 hours ago.

Sorry, logs from the web app are not useful to diagnose server issues.
Start with this procedure: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

You might want to

  • quit plex server with the tray icon
  • import this reg file (unzip first) nosecureconns.zip (363 Bytes)
it will enable debug logging and disable encrypted network communication (which might hinder error diagnosing under some circumstances).
  • start Plex server and let it run for at least 3 minutes. Then close it again and grab log files.

Do also grab server log files ‘manually’
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files#toc-1
zip up the whole folder, please

Thank you for the log file.
Your server has been taken over by a plex account which was once one of your shared users.

This procedure will enable you to readjust this:

thank you for the help. I didn’t think of using regeditor. it is now working.

If you imported my .reg file, you can now re-enable ‘Secure Connections’.
(Settings - Server - Network - ‘Secure Connections’ = “Preferred”)

Plex server # 1.14.0.5470-9d51fdfaa

Hello, I am having a very similar problem. I have downloaded the latest version. Uninstalled and re-installed tried using different browsers but Plex cannot find the local media server. It is installed on the computer I am opening plex on. It is extremely frustrating. I am on windows 10. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Logs.zip (8.9 MB)

Is there any ideas?

Your server is/was using a different plex.tv account than your web browser.
You need to bring them both into the same plex.tv account.
Your browser is using the ‘spammy…’ email address, your server is using the “good” email ‘morg…’

That’s why the browser cannot see the server. It has no access prvileges.
Einter you log out your browser and into the right account,
or you bring the server over into the spammy… account, like so: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/
