Plex can't connect then hard locks

Experiencing unholy pain with Plex on PS4.

PS4: can use any and every network service (PSN / gaming, Netflix, YouTube, whatever) fine.
Devices on the same network that work with Plex: Xbox One, PC/Windows, Mac, iPad, and 3 iPhones.
Devices on the network that don’t work: the PS4.

Firewall says it’s working.

Plex will start and then hard lock. Unable to get to the settings menu it recommends. Note that the IP addresses it’s trying are correct (ref: screenshots).

Have tried uninstalling and re-installing. Have tried a new PS4. Yes, actually tried that. Pretty sure it’s not my end, but I’d love to hear if there are ways of fixing this problem. Thanks in advance.

…worth noting I’m Plex Pass too; bought that in the hopes it would fix it (it didn’t).

…anyone? Is this a common problem?

This does indeed seem to be a common problem. As noted here (http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1278825/#Comment_1278825) the workaround is to disable secure connections. Plex’s support articles (https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204604227) in this regard aren’t really helpful; they note the PS4 app supports secured connections and the workaround for unsupported is to use “Preferred” (“If the app is not supported, make sure that you have the Secure connections server setting set to Preferred (not Required)”).

Needs a fix.

Hope there will be a fix soon.
