Plex App only useable if "Secure Connection" is disabled! Why?

Hi everybody,

a couple of weeks ago I had an issue with my Plex App on the PS4.
I was searching the whole internet and in the end I found a solution:
Disabling the “Secure Connection” within the settings of my Plex server did the trick.

Now the PS4 App connects as expected to the PMS.
But: In times of secure connections, SSL, HTTPS etc. why does this simple setup not work?
The server is located in my basement so that the secure connection “does not take effect”.

Does someone of you (or a developer) have a clue when this error will be fixed?

I have a bad feeling keeping this setting disabled.

Have a nice day

I have mine set as Prefered and I have no issues with my PS4. I have also added my local network subnet in the allow without auth and set it as the home network. I had the same issue until I did that and now it works well with other devices that are outside my network.

Well now I re-activated the “Secure Connection” setting with “Preferred” and the issue is like before:
The PS4 opens up Plex and my username is visible but without my first letter of it as a “profile picture”.
The circle contains just a black background and this is the strange behavior I had several times.
Now I can’t do anything but just quit the app.
I’m not allowed to give my pin to fire up my media center.

This occurs in my intranet but also over internet when my sister tries to access my PMS from the outside network.
Maybe someone of you knows a way to fix it?
