Plex can't connect to my server, help files didn't resolve it.

I got my Roku back in July, and then I discovered Plex. Thought it was a great thing. But it seems like every other day I’m having issues getting it to work. I downloaded new content and deleted some old stuff on the server and after that I was a week attempting to get it to find the server again. I tried all the help suggestions, nothing worked. Next day it all just appeared there out of nowhere. I used it yesterday without issue. Now today, it can’t locate the server and therefore can’t connect to Roku. I’ve gone through the help files and checked my software version and logged out and back in and it just won’t work.
To clarify…I’m only using my Windows laptop with Firefox and my Roku. Anyone have any suggestions outside of the help files?

After I login to Plex on the laptop and go to Settings, it says Server Settings are Unavailable. What do I do with that? And why is this happening?

@trumpy81
Thanks but dealing with registries is really beyond my comfort level of expertise. I’m sure to screw something else up in the process. lol
I tried the second tip with the ip address but the connection always times out so Idk if it works or not but I can’t get it to load.
‘‘The connection has timed out
The server at ‘my IP address’ is taking too long to respond.’’

I really don’t know how to do all that stuff. I just wanted to watch my downloads on my tv. Plex with Roku seemed like an easy solution. Idk why it has to be so complicated. :frowning:
