Plex can't connect to server after update - I need help

I was forced to install the new plex package and since then plex will not connect to my server. I can’t figure out what to do? Can someone help me with this issue?
I am an absolute layman concerning IT, just in case … :wink:

Version 1.21.0.3744 is not new. It can be considered “ancient” by now [1.21.0.3744](Plex Media Server - #382 by emilybersin

Server Version#:1.21.0.3744-d87012962 is the version of the used device that was attached.
now I installed the newest version but as I said I cannot connect to my server and now all my metadata (different movie posters, etc.) are gone.
