Plex Cert Expired - Plex Clients (Shield, Sony Android TV App, etc) Cannot Connect

@ChuckPa @OttoKerner @BigWheel Some other sources mentioned that leaving the server off for a bit and restarting could work around the 429’s, but mine is still failing after that with “ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to retrieve cert from plex.tv: 429”. Can you help?

I lost remote access to my Plex Server back in November. I have confirmed there is no port forward or double-NAT issue. Looking through the logs, I see certificate errors every time I restart the server.

unable to load certificate

when i try to load the cert via open_ssl. Can you reset my cert please? thanks!

Your Plex certificate is ok.
Are you trying to use your own certificate?

Does the P12 contain the CA, Key, and Cert ?

Have stopped PMS and will try in 10-15 min to make sure it’s not me

Unfortunately, waiting about 45 min between stop and start of service did not solve the cert issue
