which server please?
“Cloud Server”
Certificate reset
You may restart the server
I’ve got the same issue, any chance of kicking mine (MCE-Lounge)
Engineering is doing serious investigation of this right now (I’m included).
Would you mind doing the following?
- Recreate the problem – WITHOUT restarting.
- Download the logs ZIP file
- Attach here please
I’ve got the same issue and I haven’t restarted since it broke. Tried to send a PM with the logs but I can’t.
May I have the ZIP logs please?
We are trying to examine the state of PMS prior to resetting.
We want to make sure what we see matches what’s seen when PMS is misbehaving.
This is a VERY difficult problem for us to reproduce
Removed attachment. Forgot I didn’t have debug enabled.
Please turn DEBUG logging back on. It is on by default. It consumes no additional disk space when on (Logs are fixed size) but by being off, i cannot see what’s happening other than failures which look like the CPU heavily overloaded.
what I see looks like
- Turned off DEBUG to save space (?)
- Turned off automatic optimization (?)
a. Database now fragmented and PMS not able to respond in time.
b. CPU itself overloaded,
Because DEBUG is off, I cannot confirm anything. Respectfully, we have DEBUG on by default because that’s what’s needed.
I cannot determine anything from these logs
I do ask you to re-enable DEBUG and continue capturing about 4-5 playback sessions (2 minutes each) / remote access attempts in succession before capturing fresh set.
I see this in the logs everytime I try
Oct 13, 2020 10:18:18.178 [31052] DEBUG - CERT: incomplete TLS handshake: tlsv1 alert unknown ca
I seem to have the same problem as most. Starting about 2 weeks ago, I can’t connect to my server running on my Mac Mini from my Shield. I have never had to pull a log in 6 years so I hope I can figure it out.
One question, Does the server have to be shutdown to reset things? I’m at work and can’t shut things down until tonight.
Plex Media Server.log (122.7 KB)
Here is a log I just pulled. I’ll shut down the server for now and wait.
I’m running server version 1.20.2.3402
TO ALL READING HERE:
- We know what happens with the certificates
- We have made some changes so far and preparing more — HOWEVER
We need to catch a server & client (player) IN THE ACT OF FAILING if at all possible.
To that end, Please continue to reach out to me as you have been before acting (which includes not shutting down the server). We know how the server will behave once restarted.
Since your server is already shut down –
- In
Plex Media Server/Cache - Delete the
crtandcertificatefile. - Start PMS
Advise of your progress
Your certificate has been reset. The key info has rolled off the end.
Thanks for trying .
You may restart the server.
I’m back in business.
My family thanks you as do I!
Thanks I’ll give it a go
Jesus Christ, from hundreds of answers in this forum this one is the one that solves the problem. So simple, you should add it to one of those official guides.
I claimed my server using another account and my family abroad had lost their access. Thank you very much!
It’s not always “BFH”. I have many of those in my toolbox. I need the right color BFH for to match the job
@ChuckPa I believe I’m having the same issue. I did have to just re-install Windows/re-do my server so it makes sense there might be some duplicate cert issues in the back end.
Current server should be called “PlexBox” (but it was called that before as well.)
