Plex Client for Linux

What is the best client player for Plex media server for linux. I know I can use the web app but I would like to have a desktop app to keep my local files and if the client can play plex media like the free movies and tv shows.

Are you looking for the client to play in Linux or the server?

I was able to get Plex from the AUR it doesn’t stream the online content but streams my content

I don’t think any drm content (ie plex provided) will ever be available on Linux, but maybe I will be proven wrong.

I personally use the Plex Media Player (plex-media-player in the AUR) which works pretty well, all things considered. I believe it’s unsupported (by Plex) but I don’t see any functionality that’s missing from the web app. In fact, I think it’s just a QT5 wrapper for the web app, with its own built in versions of ffmpeg, etc. to stay consistent.

However, one thing it lacks is MPRIS to let you control the app with media keys. Curious: has anyone tried out electronic-plex?
