Plex Client for W10 has playback issue for H264

Server Version#: Plex Media Server v. 1.18.5.2309-f5213a238, DS218+, Linux DSM 6.2.3.25426-0
Player Version#: Plex for Windows v. 1.13.0.1275-bbd8d37b

I have an issue of playback of (MOV, H264 recorded from iPhone 8 with latest iOS and stored on Plex Server) video to the new windows 10 plex desktop application(the same issue goes for the plex web client as well). If I playback using transcoding I can hear the sound fine, but the video is a very odd see attached file. If I choose orginal quailty and direct stream for local network the video and audio looks and sounds fine, but renders slowly - frame by frame like.

NB!
I have an old deprecated w8.1/10 plex app on the same pc as well, and there are no issues what so ever with playback of any videos or any other media for that matter.

Hope anyone can help.

Hi Again

I love to be ignored, anyone with a comment or at least where to address the issues I am facing - Plex og Synology?.

I may need to transfer to another media solution, if nothing happens. I switched to Plex because I had a positive experience across platforms and devices. In my current situation it does not fullfill my needs at all.

I am a paying customer and no support at all, it can’t be the way to manage customers

Hi

Thank you for replying.

I have followed your guideline and attached the files, hope it will help in solving my issues. Looking forward to your assessment.

Best regards
Kim

A little notice my Plex versions have since the start of this post been updated, so the versions are now the following:

Plex for Windows - Version 1.24.0.1483-714cba36
Plex Web - Version 4.12.3
Plex for Synology NAS - Version 1.18.5.2309

I still have the old Plex universal app for windows installed and it works, here is the version of that player.

Hi

Thank you for feedback.

I have earlier this week done the plex serve upgrade as recommended and fixed my WAN network issues. I will for now skip the corrupted files and change of video folder as it does not gives me any issues for now at least - but I will keep it in mind of anything pops-up.

In regards to the manual server upgrade I was of the impression that it would be better to follow the official upgrades from Synology but I can see they are some versions behind and I will do that on a regular basis.

In general If i use plex web client for access everything works fine for both direct play and transcoding where necessary for the different media codecs, no lagging experience and distorted video anymmore.

I still experience issues with the latest windows plex client for both direct play and transcoding settings. It only works (no lagging, video distortion) if I set it to transcoding of 780p/4Mbs no matter the codec fileformat which is at least better than not working. Just a note the old windows universal app is till working with no playback issues.

So a conclusion is that constallation of the new synology plex media server and plex web clients are working, but there are still issues - but I can live with that for now and hope it will be fixed in future updates.

This issue can be closed from my point of view, thank you for your help.
