Hey Dave,
what do you do to tell a transcoding session to stop?
send a /video/:/transcode/segmented/stop to it.

Good grip on things.ZeroConf Should be within the SVN tree now. There is plenty to do (including remote transcoding / streaming.) After doing things to compile and work (remember to download and install VLC - you have ActiveX controls) to tell me and I will talk on regarding these.
Actually, VLC isn't needed anymore. The binary download I have in the Downloads section has all the external dependencies - including ffplay.exe..

Great work, I have been promoting plex over and over at work even had my atv2 there today and showing off. People start asking about windows and I said well no Windows client yet. Damn i was totaly wrong. Going to check it out on my windows machine tonight.
Glad to hear it! Definitely let me know what you think.. How it performs for you... etc...
-dave
Question. I have you completly removed the option to play the file without transcoding?
First impression. Great work it finds my PMS prefect with all my material. No problem playing any of my contet yet. =)
yes, I have.. Too many complaints about network bandwidth, etc.... That said, if enough people ask for it back I'll add an option for transcoding or not when you select something to play.
-dave
Ah ok. Well that is a feature i would like to have in all the plex clients out there. Because if i am home on my lan i really don’t want my server to transcode when it does not need to. =)
That said I also would like the original frontend for mac to have the transcoding options. It is good to have options.
Anyway a “problem” (wishful request) I found with your client is that it does not change the resolution when starting movies so the picture becomes quite blurry on my screen. I can easly bypass this by lowerng my screen resolution but then the menu would look like crap I think.
Also maybe an settings menu for different settings like how many minutes to buffer before playing etc etc.
I ask for a lot I know =)
Great work and thanks for bringing the plex experience to the windows platform.
Hi Dave - thanks for this work. I really like the Plex server, and was glad to find your work for a Windows client.
Is there any documentation? I installed the plex server, then your client. It finds the server and displays the movies, but when i try to play a movie, it says Buffering then i get a pop-up Transcode Error. I do have videolan (which i don’t think i need) and am running Win7 x64 on the client. I have .NET Framework 4 Client Profile installed. I just extract the zip files, then run PlexClientWin32, right? No changes to the config file necessary?
Everything you need is in the zip. No install needed. Are you entering your correct username/password when you choose your server?
-dave
Well, the client had a default user (jsmith?) and password, which i did not change. I do not see anywhere in the media server to set u a login/password. I also tried the login of the admin account i have set up on the server, but get the same error.
right click on the PMS icon on the Mac and select Preferences | Security and create a username and password
actually i am running PMS 9 on a windows 7 machine. I can’t find any place to enter security settings.
oh... I have no idea about that... Haven't played with the Windows PMS yet...
ANNOUNCING PLEX CLIENT FOR WIN32 RC1.1
---------------------------------------
Security is now optional. If you don’t have a username/password setup on your PMS, just leave those fields blank on the sever selector screen. Fixed for Windows PMS…
The package is here.

I just posted a new client specifically for your problem. Please let me know if it resolves it...

I have an error “Transcoder Failure” error with Windows PMS on Windows 7.
None of my files can play although they play fine with the Android client.
