But I also get the “transcoder failure” message if I want to start any tv show or movie…I´ve installed the Plex Media Manager on my Win7 Desktop and this Plex Client on my HTPC (Win7).

Thanks for the hard work Dave. Keep it up! :slight_smile: btw is there settings for the transcoder aka if I was locally at home and there doesn’t need to be transcoding vs a laptop on the road. and can you manually set bitrates yourself like air video can?

how often have you gotten this error? are you switching between videos unusually fast?

It's a bit laggy here, my folder got 300+ video. So I clicked a few time before I got a response.
Also the video seems to be sized a 640x480 and change the desktop resolution it seems.

Even I use a small folder I got the error on playing the file a second time.
First play most of the time doesn't have this error, but I still cannot play the output video window doesn't seem to be open at my resolution. The desktop switch temporarily to 640x480 and that's about it. Even in windowed mode (F11) doesn't seems to help.

I get the same error on Windows 7 32-bit running at 1280x800.

no, it's not. I just notice that the buffer file is trying to be created in the Administrator's temp dir. Just for a test, try running the client as administrator and tell me what you get, please.

We only use Windows in my company, and my colleagues are suddenly very interrested… :rolleyes:



I installed your last RC on my laptop (Win7 32 bits) and tried to access my PMS at home…



I got a 407 error: Proxy authentication



Is it possible to enter Proxy information in the config files ?? (as specified in a previous post)

PS: I also tried on an open network, and I got a 401: Authorization required… and I set the username/password in the config file ??? Where is my mistake ??? :blink:

That error trace was not mine, so I can't vouch for the details. But I did get the same error message. I am now out of town, so when I try to run the client over the internet, it just says buffering forever, I guess because the transcoding is not working yet? Not a firewall issue, as the Plex client on my iPhone is working fine. If I get any more errors I'll give you my trace.

no... The transcoding should be working fine. Do you have security turned on your PMS? Did you enter your credentials at the Server Selector screen?
