Hallo everyone
A month or 2 ago I moved my plex server from a Synology NAS running the plex synology app to a NUC 14pro in docker on an Ubuntu server.
I use RAM for the transcoding files.
It has run fast and well for since I installed it but recently (last week or 2) my wife especially but also a friend has run into intermitten grey screens when playing. My wife is playing on apple TV and on her ipad and friend on Apple TV.
My friend is transcoding everything and my wife is playing direct stream on the ipad where it turns mkv into mp4. I find this a bit weird because on the apple tv it can play the same files as direct play?
The apple tv started transcoding a file and she got grey screen on that to but I change it so it should play original and I havent heard anything since. But again since its intermitten its really hard to say for sure its gone.
I am guessing that the issue has something to do with the transcoding and/or repacking of the containers.
My sever is using an arc IGPU which has worked flawlessly until now even though plex says unknown (intel)
Can’t it be something about the files it dislikes? but then again I would have thought it would be in the same place and not intermitten.
Any tips and suggestions or ideas would be very welcome
