plex client on LG smart tv requires daily connection to server and entry of a new PIN

Plex has been working great for several months, but in the last week or so, every time I launch the Plex client on my LG smart TV, it says unable to reach the server, and then takes me to the screen where I need to enter a new pin. I get a new pin from plea.tv/pin and enter it, and the Plex client then connects and works normally. Nothing has really changed recently in my network, but I did update the Plex server and the Plex client seems to have updated itself. The client version is 2.4.36. The server is running on a Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. The Plex server is 0.9.12.19.1537-f38ac80. I also noticed that on the server, the devices screen shows multiple Plex for LG (Netcast) instances, one for each time I had to reconnect. Its as if the binding from the client to the server is not being properly persisted. Any ideas what might be happening?

It actually happens every time the Plex client app is started.

I am having the same issue with my Vizio Smart TV. would start right up every time then one day is would not and now if I want to use the server I have to do the whole pass code thing. It’s annoying. Have you had any luck figuring out the issue yet?

My problem is that when it gives me the pin and sends me to another device to put the pin in, there is nowhere to enter the pin, as I am already signed in with user name and password, even if I sign out of Plex when I go back in it does not ask for a pin. This only happened once before and eventually, without putting the pin in, everything started working again, but not this time. Any ideas?
