I’ve got an issue with my Plex server, my clients are all showing that my Plex server is not available even though I can reach it on the plex.tv website from outside my network.
Did anyone have that before?
If I’m in the wrong thread pleas move this post.
I’m having the same issue. The first time I noticed it not working was yesterday and it persists through today. I’ve gone through the level of troubleshooting to validate my port forwarding is working so it leads me to believe something is broken on the Plex side even though the status says this has been fixed?
Something Plex did on Wednesday has caused lots of people to have the same issue. AS none I can see, have changed anything but woke up with the app or devices not able to connect to the PMS.
Plex uses Let’s Encrypt certificates for the account authentication. When you first run a player, it has to authenticate the account you’re logged in before allowing you to access the server.
You may also have heard that Let’s Encrypt had a batch of certificates on older devices that expired (sort of. It’s a technical story). I think Plex determined that Let’s Encrypt certificate retrieval point was slammed by loads of people trying to correct their expired certificates, which may have caused delays in authenticating for everyone else.
Plex killed off those tv’s from connecting with a secure connection. they put this article up but I would love to know why.
My parents have a 2021 Samsung TV it’s also stopped working and I haven’t been able to fix it remotely.
I have a LG 65UM7000PLA that suddenly won’t connect. It can see it through DNLA and the kids LG TV’s and tablets can access Plex too but just the main telly can’t access server. It knows it’s there but keeps saying retry connection. Removed and re-added app to Tv but still won’t connect. Running webos 05.10 so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’m assuming it’s the TV as all other devices can connect.
