Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314 on Unraid
Player Version#: 10.25.0.2403 (6d4c0187) Android
I recently moved my Plex server from my Windows machine to a new Unraid server. I’ve noticed that anytime I try to stream content remotely that needs to be hw transcoded, the subtitle file won’t display in client even though it is an SRT sub. For some files, it fails to play completely with the error “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.” Image
Even asking the client to go out and and find a subtitle file externally from OpenSubtitles for example, the subtitles won’t display or the file will throw the error above.
I’ve confirmed in Tautulli that the Plex server isn’t even serving the subtitles anymore. Stream stats from Tautulli.. And here is the external subtitle file selected in the client
If it direct plays, there’s no issue with the subtitles displaying. Stream stats from Tautulli when direct playing.
Here are the errors that show when I play a file where it transcodes successfully, but won’t display the subtitles:

Here are the errors that show in the console when I try to play a file with subtitles and get the “An error occurred” message:
[Req#af90b/Transcode] Failed to delete session directory (boost::filesystem::remove: Directory not empty [system:39]: “/transcode/Transcode/Sessions/plex-transcode-4d9c11a742b8919d-com-plexapp-android-e0112b4f-0852-4c00-897c-80ed7ea7ea97”)
[Req#b0253/Transcode] Unable to create output stream for transcode session, no segments found
If I set the option in the client to Always burn subtitles, everything works without a problem. Any ideas what the issue might be?
