How much does 30 TB of storage cost on Google Drive? Whenever I look at their pricing I find it to be prohibitive.
30TB is $300 a month on Google Drive. Ridiculous.
The amazon option made Plex Cloud very interesting as it was a reasonable price option. Plex is not worth $3,600 a year…
They will need to make it work with a reasonable cost cloud storage solution. Just just a high priced one. Otherwise its pretty much useless.
Or you could do like the rest of us, get the Gsuite which has unlimited google drive. It says 5 user minimum for unlimited, but they don’t enforce it. Many of us are single users on the account and have unlimited. 10 bucks a month, plus a domain name fee a year (12.00) for me.
Did you know that google have limit ?
They have limit just like amazon if you triger it your account will be locked
I just read that in another post in this forum just be careful
Its just matter of time until they change their mind just like MS did with onedrive
Because people just abuse the cloud service there are people have more than +200TB in amazon (crazy)
Plex cloud will not live long if amazon drive is not unlimited
All the plex fan waiting the invite because the UNLIMITED and always on server
So let make things clear until the time that Cloud service change there mind and set a limit
Plex cloud will not have long time to live
The only option will be available is buy a limited cloud service just like google drive +300$/month
Which will be crazy to do or even think about
Or go with VPS server
Let hope that amazon and google gsuite will not change there minds about the unlimited

There is no way I would trust this to be my only source of my media. It could be good as a backup. What happens when one of these services shuts your account down? There are no free rides and no one is going to backup and preserve 30TB of data for 60$ per year. It makes no business sense. I also worry this is drawing unwanted attention to Plex itself. Just my 2 cents…
you are 100% right and i agree with you
There are people upload more than +200TB to amazon drive
Amazon and google is not the business to loose
My advice is that we use these services fair and dont take it as the only server !!
The latest build of Plex Cloud has mitigations in place to reduce the likelihood of Google Drive getting temporarily locked. More work is being done in this area to provide a solid long-term solution, but for now we are seeing beta users report adding 1,000+ items to a library and not getting locked out.

Good to know that

So is Amazon Cloud Drive out for good or just now and it will be in the final or “open-beta” release?

Google Drive Unlimited is unlimited. I have 55+ TB of storage on there right now as a single user.
Like @kinoCharlino said there was a bug that was locking people out of their drive for 24 hours, i was included in the lockout. But since this has been fixed from what i have tested. The lockout to my knowledge seemed to be related to scanning/reading files in the library and hitting Google Drives API several times a second causing an abuse lockout.
I think the issue with Google drive is if they decide to actually enforce their actual storage terms, you can find yourself shut out overnight. Nice to know it’s an option, at least for now. I guess I’ll sign up. Doesn’t hurt to have a backup to the backup.

We have been a G-Suite subscriber for many years. (Previously known as Google Aps for Business) They host our web site, mail server and a few other functions. But our storage is NOT unlimited. Not even close. $300 a month for 30TB is the price that comes up for storage upgrade on our account.
Guess I could set up an entirely new domain account in addition to the one we have…not sure that is even possible.
Hi!
I received the invite mail today but when setting up with OneDrive I faced an error message.
Now when adding libraries I cannot search for folders - nothing appears and I cannot access the Beta forum (Permission Problem).
Is there a way to fix it?
Thanks
Stefan
i just tried the google drive solution and it plays for a 2 minutes then it needs a 2-3 second break to download some more and then the stream will move for another 2 minutes.

You might need to log out and back into the forum to gain access to the Plex Cloud Beta forum.

What? ACD is not available for new users? Seriously? Why am I uploading all of my crap for the past two months then? Is this permanent, will ACD get dumped?
Point of a beta is to TEST. Means you do not have to upload all your material just a few things and test. If you chose to upload all that is your choice. I am sure by the time this comes out of beta it will work with Amazon but nothing is guaranteed. Way harder than Plex thought it was going to be.

If i remember correctly there were 2 options Google Apps for Business and Google Apps for Business Unlimited. When i signed up years ago it was the Google Apps for Business Unlimited which was $10 per user. There was a non unlimited option too which was cheaper.

@alazabe, This is my media drive, other than maybe 10GB or so for my backup programs for installs. all the rest is media. As for stats i have close to 2000 movies and over 400 TV Shows.
The big key here of course is sharing… do **not ** share your Google Drive with others.
I have about 15 people (Family & Friends) that i allow access to and that is only through Plex. I have not had any issues with this method.
As for the website you do not need to make a website. I only use the domain name, which is used for logging into your Google Account with.
When you create your account and do your domain name, You will also create an email to that domain.
That is all you need to use the domain name for, is to login with the email. Your email will be used just like any other Gmail account and actually can be used through gmail.
