- Only the Plex Dev Team has that answer
- umm because they are testing it and it is not ready for release…

I got an invite! But ACD is not available for new users, so is useless for me now. Maybe I’ll upload something to Google drive to try it out.
Seriously? Okay at least then i don’t care if i get an invite or not…for now.

How much does 30 TB of storage cost on Google Drive? Whenever I look at their pricing I find it to be prohibitive.
30TB is $300 a month on Google Drive. Ridiculous.
The amazon option made Plex Cloud very interesting as it was a reasonable price option. Plex is not worth $3,600 a year…
They will need to make it work with a reasonable cost cloud storage solution. Just just a high priced one. Otherwise its pretty much useless.

I have 15 TB of data on Google Drive. Could I do the same with a server/VPS, and is there a guide anywhere for how to connect the two?
I don’t know if there is a definitive guide out there, but you just need to mount Google as a drive, and then point Plex at that folder. This seems like a good place to start.
Some VPS hosts offer Plex support up front and others offer unmanaged boxes. I went the latter because I tend to do weird things with my setups to fit my needs, but I’ve heard of plenty of people having success with managed hosts. Finding one with Plex support and then asking them if they can help mount Google Drive (because you’ll probably need to be root on initial setup) may be the best bet.
Still got unlimited (>10 T) storage on Onedrive so cant wait for the invite
What? ACD is not available for new users? Seriously? Why am I uploading all of my crap for the past two months then? Is this permanent, will ACD get dumped?

As part of being in a closed beta, everything about the features and capability is subject to change. This is not a Plex Pass pre-release. The point of the closed beta is to test the platform with a controllable number of users to determine what the product will ultimately look like and how it will perform once it’s out of beta. By getting an invite, you’re getting early access to help test. It’s not a completed product that you should expect to replace your existing PMS with.

That will make a lot of people really really unhappy since many people invest money in ACD
What i will advice you guys is just try to make it work ,or at least if it work but not perfect just let people decide if they want to use it
Exactly. I am fully aware of the fact that this is a closed Beta. However, Plex Cloud has been announced to be working with Amazon Drive in the future with a lot of fanfare back in December. I (and probably many other people) have started uploading all of our content soon, as depending on size and upload speed this can take many months, to make sure all our stuff is ready when Plex Cloud goes live for good. I never intended to use the Bera as a PMS replacement, but wanted to be ready for the day it is stable and live. Hearing these news now males me wonder if it has been - and still is - worth all the effort, as the other cloud providers space-wise simply are not an option.

Or you could do like the rest of us, get the Gsuite which has unlimited google drive. It says 5 user minimum for unlimited, but they don’t enforce it. Many of us are single users on the account and have unlimited. 10 bucks a month, plus a domain name fee a year (12.00) for me.

Unfortunately the issue is with Amazon more than Plex, Until Amazon fixes there api limits what do you expect Plex to do? You can be given access to ACD but why? It won’t work and all the new users will just complain that it’s not working. Which the plex devs already know. They have already stated its Amazons side that is causing issues.
There is no way I would trust this to be my only source of my media. It could be good as a backup. What happens when one of these services shuts your account down? There are no free rides and no one is going to backup and preserve 30TB of data for 60$ per year. It makes no business sense. I also worry this is drawing unwanted attention to Plex itself. Just my 2 cents…

Hadn’t heard of this and took a quick look. Is there any reason to believe that once Google realizes that folks are using it to get around Google Drive pricing that they will not change things (introduce limits on non-Google doc resources, actually require 5 users, etc.)?
