Yes, it works. No pun intended, but google it. To put it another way, when I originally mounted my google drive, it reported 10TB free. As I keep adding data, the total space turns into used amount + 10TB. Right now mine shows 1.2 used of 11.2 TB.

There’s Google Drive for Business, but there’s a bit more to it than just $10 a month.
- It is $10 per user per month.
- If it is an account with less than 5 users, storage is capped at 1TB per user
- Individual files are capped at 5GB
- If you wanted unlimited space, it would be $50 a month as you are paying for 5 users
Yes $10 per month or £6.60 UK
Single Users have been for quite some time getting unlimited - of course this may change but currently single users still get unlimited. You can sign up for a trial before having to pay, so can of course try!
Files are not capped at 5GB I have files way bigger than this…
They are capped at 5 TB

I didn’t see support for .mkv files under video… does anyone who uses it know if you can host them for sure our not…
I guess I could just test it on our Foundation’s gsuite if I have to but I can’t use it for personal use even though I run the foundation…
A file is a file. Plex is going to be dealing with the MKV, not google so it doesn’t matter.
Not sure if I am willing to go the single user route because you know how Google likes to change things out of the blue and they start enforcing it after putting all that work in uploading videos after everyone catches on…

Amazon also dont’ list .mkv as supported file type - all this means is you can not play it back using their cloud apps…
It is fine there as a “file” that can be used by plex / re downloaded / mounted or whatever other use you wish to make of it.
@mdnitoil true… I believe the mean support on playing it via their web player…
I reckon it’s probably best to leave it a month or two to see how it all pans out

Perfectly understandable. I’m doing both the google and the amazon, syncing the data between them. Figured 60 bucks a year for amazon is still a good deal for a backup in the cloud. Much cheaper than all the hard drives I’m storing it on locally. If the google thing craps out, I’m on to the next solution. My primary goal is to not have to re-upload all these TB’s of data again.
Beyond all that, I’ve already got a cloud server since I’m leasing a dedicated hosted server. Ironically, it’s running great with the data on Amazon, so go figure that. I’m only interested to see if Plex’s cloud can someday replace the one I currently have.
I was thinking the same thing but my issue right now is I can’t get any of my .mkv’s to upload to ACD… it always sticks on “waiting to upload”… I even let it sit for a couple of days and no change… How do you get yours to upload @mdnitoil ?
I was hoping it was something that would get address with time… I haven’t had time to look up options…

How are you synching the data between the 2 platforms? hoping I can set that up myself. ![]()
Thanks.
I’m using the bandwidth on my hosted server and running rclone on it from cloud to cloud. The hosted server has 100mb, and my local machine only has 5mb up. So, once I get the data up, I work from the hosted machine. Since my upload from the home is such crap, it’s another reason why I’ll be keeping my amazon cloud, if only for backup storage.

Sorry, I missed this post. I’m uploading from home with rclone. Freeware command line tool that can talk to cloud storage. Runs on all platforms, including my windows box. Lots of posts all over on this.

No worries… Thanks! I will look into that when I get a chance… I appreciate it ![]()
Plex cloud is officially dead you can’t use it with Amazon drive anymore so unless you’re willing to pay over $100 a month for anything over a terabyte of storage. This sucks I was really looking forward to using it and I have over 6 TB on Amazon drive right now

Hi! Can I ask you which service you’re using for your hosted server? I’m using vpscheap.net and it isn’t stellar, but it is indeed cheap and has unmetered bandwidth.
Mount Amazon Cloud Drive on Linux (FUSE Filesystem).

I’m getting mine from kimsufi. The one I’ve got is hosted in Canada and claims to cost $25/month. Turns out that’s $25 Canadian, so it’s only $19 US. The bandwidth is unmetered, but the connection is 100mb.

You can easily get unlimited storage for half that, and it gives you 5 accounts. If you read around many are getting it for $10 a month.
I know that Plex has said that for the foreseeable future they will not be using ACD, however I wish they would say whether or not they are still working on a fix or whether they have just completely abandoned the idea of using them. If I thought there would be a chance of ACD working in a few months time, I would still be happy to wait, but as I only have 11 days left on my 90 day trial, I would like to know sooner rather than later. Basically, I really don’t want to have to spend another three months re-uploading all of my files to a new cloud service.
As for ACD not recognising .mkv files as video files, I have noticed that it has recognised a few of mine, although admittedly only a very small percentage.
seems they are abandoning the ACD plan because they are not allowing any user to select it as the cloud storage provider after december 31st.
