Is there a way for Plex Collections to be grouped into a folder? Such as Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, to all show up as one movie poster that serves as a container? This would be useful for other series such as Star Wars, James Bond, etc.
Nope. This and other similar things have been asked for many many times pretty much since the origins of Plex and it has been nearly totally ignored. Either Plex finds it unimportant or unneeded or too hard to implement.
The work around that many of use use is to change the sort field so that like movies are grouped together and many of us get the order right by using the date released: ex for James Bond movies mine start with “Bond 1962” for “Dr. No” and progress through “Bond 2015” for “Spectre”
While that does not get them under one poster it does at least get them grouped together and in order in the listings.
Yep.
Some of us even go as far as creating Enough Libraries to handle just about anything.
We also know it’s quicker to develop a ‘work-around’ than to wait for Plex to do something they’re obviously not going to do.
Most folks don’t need to go to this extreme, but it makes sense to me until it doesn’t, then I can do something else. You’ll, of course, need to ‘invent’ something that makes sense to you.
