Hey everybody!
Just being curious about how you guys organize your movie collections. Do you just tag and sort them out via the collections-option or do you put them in folders ? The latter has the advantage of not being around when you’re scrolling through your movies. What do you think ?
Neither. I hate collections and folders.
I put my (vast) Box Sets and Sequels in Libraries, then use the Sort Title Field to line 'em up in a row:

I currently have:
Sci-Fi Sets
Bond, James Bond (007 deserves a library - he does have a license to kill so don’t want him angry)
The other Sets and Sequels are living in other various libraries (all lined up in order), but when the next HDD comes to town (soon) they’ll move.

Very interesting way. I prefer the “classic” approach though 
I don’t use either as well. What I do to get sets grouped together is make the sort field such that it is the same except for a date for everything in a group. ex. All James Bond movies have a sort field like “Bond year” where year is the year the movie was released.
This gets all like movies grouped together and also keeps them sorted in release order.
When I run into a series that has multiple releases in the same year I keep them in order by including a month field like for a Shirley Temple movie I would have “Shirley Temple year mm” where mm is the two digit month of release.
That is my solution and there are several other people on here that use something similar.
In fact I do not find collections useful at all. They are too cumbersome and complicated to create and use. And as far as folders I do use them but for making maintenance easier not really for any grouping the provide in Plex. Plex’s extremely poor implementation of folder support makes folder unattractive for any real use for me.
I don’t yet. I’m waiting for Plex to actually implement this feature as its users expect, like all of their competition, versus making excuses or trying to redefine “collections” and pretending it’s already do-able.

What do you do in your spare time while waiting? Rhetorical question really, but I like fishing. It too seems to require a LOT of waiting, so it’s good training.
