Hi,

I just wanted to try it out, to stream a movie from PlexApp on Iphone to Ps4 but i cant choose the ps4 player in PlexApp.

Is there something i am missing?

If the apps on the ps4 and lg or ps4 are open and logged in they should appear as casting options in the player it’s as simple as that, nothing extra to do bar hitting the cast button and selecting the lg TV or ps4 from the casting range!

Works perfectly for me as well. The PS4 Plex app is advertised in the list when I use the iOS app. So to figure this out we need to understand if the PS4 and the iOS device are on different subnets (because I assume you have double checked so the iOS device is on your Wifi network and not on your carriers 3G/4G network). Which IP does the PS4 have, and which IP does the iOS device have?

Yes u right:) my ios device is on wifi network.
The ip of my ios device is 192.168.178.72
An ps4 is 192.168.178.33

Hmm, so that is likely the same subnet then. Hmm.

  1. Do you happen to have a wifi extender in the house? Or a second router? Or are both the iOS device and the PS4 definitely connecting straight to the same router?
  2. Do you connect your PS4 to your router via ethernet cable or via wifi?

  1. I have a Time Capsule connected to my router and i use the wifi connection over it for my iphone, ipad etc. and then an airport extreme is connected via cable to the Time Capsule to extend the Wifi Signal upstairs in my bedroom.
  2. My Ps4 is connected via cabel to the router.

I think users with the same issue as you would love to hear what you did to get this working. Can you please add a sentence or two about what the issue was?

My iOS device was connected to another network inside the house and i wasnt aware of that, after i changed the network everthing was working. So my bad.

PS4 is not showing up as a Plex Companion or fling target in the iOS. Both devices are on the same IP subnet. I’ve downloaded the newest iOS client, PS4 client, and Plex Media Server for Mac. Please help!

Hi,

Are all devices on the same network? I got 2 different networks at home and this messed up my setup for PlexCompanion.

I had a problem where the PS4 wasn’t showing up even though other devices on the same network where. All I had to do after everything was updated was hit the refresh button on the device list.

How did you ever get this issue fixed?

It stopped working a while back for me then randomly worked for about a week ages ago and then didnt again up until this day.

Still not working via the android app and hasnt for several months now despite using the latest versions on all three platforms (pc running server, android and ps4) and all on the same network - works fine with the fire stick and even using one phone to control another etc but nothing finds the ps4 at all even though the remaining devices can all “see” each other

There seems to be a lot of people that have had this problem but no answer to actually fix it
