So it seems for me, disabling plexgdm solves this problem. At least it has for the last couple of days.
My Settings.cfg:
port_pms = 32400
port_webserver = 80
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
loglevel = Normal ip_pms = 192.168.2.100 [This should match the manually set DNS IP on the ATV if PlexConnect is on the same machine as the PMS]
enable_dnsserver = True
enable_plexgdm = False
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0
Get the LAN IP address of the Mac running Plex Media Center from System Preferences > Network. In my configuration, PlexConnect is running on the same computer that is running PMS.
I also have DHCP reservations for both the ATV and PMS Mac to ensure their IPs don’t change.
>> ip_pms = 192.168.2.100 [This should match the manually set DNS IP on the ATV]
Not really... well, only if you run PlexConnect and PMS on the same machine.

Thanks for pointing that out. I edited my post to reflect your clarification.
Might be best if you post your Settings.cfg here along with any relevant details about your setup.
I am using crunchyroll. That could be why it did not work for me. My fault i should have put crunchyroll not available. when i get home tonight i will try again

ok i just set it up in trailers. now atv going to sleep. see what happens
That looks fine. Hmmm, what a frustrating problem. Assuming you flushed the DNS cache and unplugged the ATV for 30 seconds, I don't know what else there is to try except ensure that the ATV doesn't go to sleep.

Sorry my mistake. I did not unplug it for 30 sec. i can try that tonight.

ok think i found the problem. the setting.cfg file was not saving. fixed that now it saved as it should be. unplug ATV for a min. testing now.
I think it’s a network problem and not specifically a Plexconnect problem. This was an issue for me when my network was sporadically going down due to a short in my DSL line. The network would only be out briefly but the ATV had a hard time reconnecting via Plexconnect when it woke up, even if the network was fully functioning at the time. The utilities company fixed the short and I have not had a problem since.
I'm fairly certain I changed the DNS server away from and back to PlexConnect on a hung aTV. Away is OK; back is not.
Yes, I recall playing around and finding something similar. I did not mean Plexconnect was not involved in the problem but that it is Plexconnect inability to find the server after a network interruption that might be the place to look.
