I have a show that I would like to automatically sync to my iPad. As with other shows, I create optimized versions, limited to 5 unwatched episodes, with “2mbps 720p” settings. Other shows immediately start downloading optimized versions once I sync them to the iPad.
But this particular show doesn’t. Even though it is same 2mbps 720p optimized, when I sync it to iPad, it starts a new conversion, and does not use optimized version. And it is converting the same unwatched episodes that are displayed in optimizations list.
How to troubleshoot this? I don’t want my Plex Server to do double job converting files multiple times.
Edit: I disagree with tags change to iOS. I doublechecked on my Android device, and it’s the same behavior - it converts again even though there is an optimized version. It is converter or optimizer. I have a strong suspicion it will behave the same with desktop app as well, so it’s most likely server-related, but what do I know.
