I tried that once before, but the server crashed half way through creating a new Movies library.
Do you make certain credit detection is OFF ?
Do you add only one directory at a time ?
My attempt to recreate the Movies library, I believe I had Plex set to it’s defaults, so Credit Detection may have been enabled in the library, but should have been disabled in Plex Settings > Library.
I can retry, but I am doubtful that it will succeed.
I’ll give them the DMP file and show them what your tool shows
Just tried to rename AppData and recreate my libraries. Movies Plus succeeded, but Movies failed and the server crashed after adding ~36 files.
The server crashed again after restarting it.
Restarted the server again and it is displaying 36 files only.
I will rename AppData and go back to what I had I think.
One more time…
Turn everything off (advanced)
see if we can pin it down.
Ridley says “Any modern Linux system”
Yeah I disabled Thumbnails and Credit detection before I created the Movies library. I left them on when creating the Movies Plus library, but disabled them once the library had finished adding all files and started Credit Detection.
I renamed AppData and I’m back to the way things were now.
I am trying again, but after renaming AppData again, I am faced with this:
I restarted the server and opened Plex/Web.
I have set all server settings the same as the DS1815+ and I have created a new Movies library. I made sure Thumbnails and Credit Detection were disabled.
Plex is busy adding files now and I will let you know if it succeeds or not.
It is up to 1938 now, but there is a long way to go.
So after many hours, the Movies library finally completed, but you guessed it, as soon as I enter the Movies library and try scrolling through it, the server crashes, just as before.
I restarted the server and waited for the CPU usage to die down and it crashed again.
I did notice at the beginning of the Movies library creation, it was adding 3 files at a time, but by the time it finished, it was adding one file at a time.
I restarted the server again so that I could gather the logs, just in case they contain something not seen before.
Here are the logs:

I am going to rename AppData and go back to the way things were.
So today, it’s the DS1815+'s turn to crash. Plex crashed at ~3am this morning, an hour into maintenance.
Here are the logs:

So, I renamed AppData and uninstalled Plex on the DS1813+ (DSM 7).
I then proceeded to install PlexMediaServer-1.25.9.5721-965587f64-x86_64_DSM7.spk.
After installation was complete, I set all appropriate server settings and I created a Movies Plus library with 1308 files.
After the library creation was complete I entered the library and I was able to scroll through the library in any fashion I chose and the server remained stable and did NOT crash at all.
I did not observe any other anomalies with the server at that time.
Unfortunately, I neglected to add ‘ArticleStrings’ to Preferences.xml and version 1.25.9.5721 does not have ‘editions’, which is something I rely on to separate the many similar versions I have in my library, so I reverted to my original setup by once again renaming AppData and reinstalling:
PlexMediaServer-1.31.3.6868-28fc46b27-x86_64_DSM7.spk.
After doing so, I cannot reliably scroll through any of my Movie type libraries without the server crashing at some point.
The sensitivity of the server/scrolling does appear to be reduced and the server does not crash as often as it did when I first reported the issue, but alas, the server will still crash at random intervals while scrolling/jumping through my Movie type libraries.
So far, I have not seen any further crashing during maintenance on any of the servers and I do not appear to have any issues with scrolling/jumping through my Movie type libraries on the PC.
I hope this issue can be resolved as it is rather annoying having to restart the server on either of my NAS, every time I try to find a Movie I wish to watch.
Tonight, all three servers crashed at the same time, about an hour before maintenance as near as I can work out.
All of the logs seem to show that a client initiated the close.

I have installed the latest PlexMediaServer-1.32.0.6865-ba892e5ce and it seems to have improved the issue somewhat.
I had to push things pretty hard to get it to crash, but unfortunately, it did crash.
The server even managed to crash again after I had stopped scrolling through my Movies library, so something is still amiss.

Just installed PlexMediaServer-1.32.0.6918-6f393eda1-x86_64_DSM7.spk and you guessed it, same as before, crashes when scrolling through my Movies library at a moderate pace.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that I don’t have the ability to cast to my RPi RasPlex players anymore. Plex/Web lists one player ( I have two) and selecting it has no effect at all.
Latest crash logs with PlexMediaServer-1.32.0.6918-6f393eda1-x86_64_DSM7 below.
It is interesting that the server uploads the crash logs before it shuts down completely and the client initiating the shut down is Plex itself … doh!

Tonight, my PC server crashed for no apparent reason. Maintenance is a few hours away and I was not using the server at the time, so I have no idea why it crashed.

The saga continues. After installing 1.32.1.6983 via script and Plex/Web, I still have the scrolling/crashing issues.
My first attempt at scrolling through my Movies library was seemingly successful, I changed tabs in my browser and then when I went back to the Plex tab, the server had crashed after all.
This is so lame …
I tried to download 1.32.1.6983 from the downloads page, but I can only find 1.32.0.6973 there.

Edit = due to consecutive post limit.
I installed Version 1.32.1.6999 and then proceeded to scroll through my Movies library.and I did NOT have any crashes … yay!
It is still early days, but I think this issue may have been solved with this latest version.
Strangely, when I go to the downloads page, I still see version 1.32.0.6973-a787c5a8e offered there, it has NOT been updated for the last two versions now, I’m curious as to why?
