Server Version#: 4.37.2
Player Version#:8.3.0 Galaxy S20+
Good day to you.
I am having a huge issues with the plex app, as its an issue that makes the app completely unusable. As of now my server, phone app, and phone os are all running the latest versions available. I have a Galaxy s20+, so I use the android variant of the app.
What keeps happening regardless of what content I am viewing from my nas threw the app, wether it be video or audio, wether the app is on screen or in the background, the app will play the content for a good minute then suddenly close. The app itself stays open, but whatever was being played would minimize and terminate with no prompt from my own input. This is all that is apparent to me right away as there is no error code prompt that appears after this, it just terminates back to where ever the previous screen was, not exactly putting me back to the main home screen, but it takes me to what I was on before I started the playback, wether that be a movie selection, a TV series selection, or a music/song selection. I have looked online all over the place to see documentation of this problem but none to my knowledge exists, I was wondering if this is a common problem, and what can I do to fix it.
Im sorry but if thats the case thats outrageous it may be a bit buggy but I can load the desktop app when going to plex.tv just fine if i can’t use it without paying then that defeats the whole purpose of why I got this whole thing. this wont let you use your phone, and ds audio/audio station dont let you use it off the network, i don’t understand what can i use to access my music on the go without having them physically there on my phone, yes I know i can move them just that easily, but I have atleast 70gb worth of mp3 files all together. I can understand pushing their plex pass, but seriously to this degree is insane, it defeats the whole purpose I uploaded my content to this service, but not only that, it can easily be bypassed by just going to plex.tv in my mobile browser and pressing launch, yes it may be buggy but atleast I can actually use the ■■■■ i uploaded.
Sir, there is comas and periods throughout that reply. Now the only problem is I didnt buy a nas to trade for what services I paid for. I bought the nas so I could control my own music library, and to forgo the usual Spotify subscription. Obviously I have other storage reasons, but that is what applies here. So all in all im going to be looking for a different service. Where? I have no clue, due to how this is the only one I ever here about. I bought the bas so I could control my data remotely, and not pay for a cloud service because I control it, this app is apparently not what im looking for.
You don’t have to get a Plex Pass membership nor do you have to use any of the additional services or cloud components. Plex‘ core features will also work without that.
If you don’t want to pay anything you’ll mostly miss the access to the native mobile apps. You’ll find others writing about the ups and downs of using Plex Web on a mobile
