The Plex app for Android mobile devices has degraded or there is a bad bug. I listen to my music all day every day and I can’t get through 5 songs without getting a “playback failure” error or Plex just stops playing music for no reason. I have to use a 3rd party app to listen to my music on my media server because Plex crashes a lot throughout the day. Please fix this, I would like to use Plex to listen to my music, not a 3rd party app.
I have the exact same issue. Music sync’d locally to my Samsung S9+, plex fully updated, and I can’t play more than 3-5 songs without it giving the “Playback Failed…” message and forcing me to log back in to the app and start all over.
It’s very disappointing that one of the main functions of the software app doesn’t work. I hope that in the very near future Plex will fix this issue, it really sucks not being able to use Plex to listen to music.
I’m so sick of this crap!!! I can’t even use my phone while plex is playing music before it stops playing or crashes. This is BS! I am a lifetime member and paid for this app and product to work, not sometimes, not when it feels like it, 100% of the time playing music and my media. PLEX FIX THIS!!!
Same problem here. Been like this for months, at least. It’s so inconsistent, I can’t find the common factor. Starting to think there isn’t one, other than just using the Plex app.
I have found a solution since Plex won’t fix the issue. I found and use an app called BubbleUPnP and just connect directly to my NAS and forget Plex. Ever since I started connecting directly and bypassing Plex I haven’t had any issues.
For music you can also try Hifi-Cast.Its the only app playing gapless with chromcast
Yes, from the testing i’ve done. It doesn’t matter what app/program you use, if you bypass the Plex Media Server and connect directly to the NAS or your source, you shouldn’t run into any issues. I’m still hoping one day Plex will fix the issue.
