Plex crashing HELP!!

Hi,

Been having issues with my plex. Can you help? I’ve posted lots about it in another area of this site - https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/296113/help-plex-keeps-stopping-playback#latest

I have attached my server log if that helps.

It is very very VERY annoying!

HELP!!!

Thanks.

Hi, Can anyone help with this???

It is still happening and I think it’s something to do with transcoding. Because if I watch on an Android device where everything direct streams it’s fine but if any part of it transcodes it will stop.

I have attached the most recent log file which should show Spiderman stopping while being watched.

Please, someone help. Part of the reason I paid for a lifetime pass was in the hope I could get help.

at no point and in no thread have you described the server you are using, correct? only the client? we only have half the information we need in order to assist.

more threads and more bumps will likely lead to less help, btw…because, well, internet.

Plex is trying to find media that isn’t there. If you’ve moved files around after they’ve been added to a library it can cause things like this, or if there is some sort of database corruption it can also cause these types of errors. I recommend you do the following steps:

Scan Library Files
Empty Trash
Clean Bundles
Restart PMS

When you are finished, look and see what is missing from your library.

I have given all the information.

I have given the precise version the server in on and I have posted the full logs. What else do you need? Tell me and I will supply it.

Nothing is missing. Everything is there and in the library. The issue is shows and films will just stop mid-way. If its a show on random then it will skip to the next one.

Which clients fail when you play back this file? I know you said a non-trancode works on your Android client. If you use a web browser and watch a movie (that will pretty much always force a transcode) does it also crash? Does it always crash when transcoding, regardless of the client you use?

Did you create these files yourself?

I mainly use LG Smart TV app or chromecast. I’m just assuming it’s a transcode thing because I think I’m right in saying the android app plays all files.

It crashes at any point. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern in it. Just suddenly I’m taken back to the menu or if I’m watching something on random it’ll jump to the next show.

This is my log from today. Whilst watching a film (spider man) it crashed once.

The files are just your usual film/tv files.

If you can test using a computer w/web browser, or desktop Plex Media Player where you force a transcode, that will help isolate things. The more apps you can try the more we can isolate what’s causing it.

Also, did you create these files yourself? Do all of your files stop playing when transcoding? I see transcoder errors in your logs.

No, just a normal file like any other. What would the error suggest?
