Plex Crashing Immediately after update

Hi Everyone,

Trying to update my plex server, i have a spare machine that doesnt have a GPU, thats been running my server for a while on Version 1.40.0.7998

Whenever i try to update, Plex refuses to launch

Im not exactly sure, but it might be complaining about the driver here, hoping someone can help.

Why are you trying to install such an old version?

Here’s what you should try:

  • verify there is plenty of free space on drive C:
  • shut down plex using its task tray icon
  • try and repair the plex database, using this .bat file: PlexDBRepair/Windows at master · ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair · GitHub
  • download the latest Plex Media Server installer for Windows manually and install it. Download links are below. DON’T install in any other place than the default C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server

Might of explained poorly, I’m trying to install the latest version already.

Ran the update again same issue.
C drive has 55GB of free space and i havent changed the location of the installation, its been in default.

Have you performed the database repair?
Did you buy Plex Pass only recently?

i ran the .bat file and goes through pretty quick and then closes
Doesnt seem to change the error message at all

No plex pass was purchased a while back.

Does this board have any sort of monitor connector?
If it does, which type of graphics adapter is on/in it?
And if there is a GPU, is the proper driver software installed?

I found it!!!

The PC had a Nvidia GPU that was previously connected thats now been removed.
I went through and uninstalled the GPU and now it seems to be working fine!
