I think the latest update wiped out my plex server install completely

I think with the latest update, my plex server install was wiped. Has anyone else experienced that?

Mine is gone too, just updated like 5 mins ago, and the install folder contains only empty folders. It wiped my Media Server, doesnt exist anymore.

Gone here too. Completely wiped out.

go to control panel under uninstall program , right click on Plex Media Server, Change then Click Repair.

Just wiped mine as well!! Gone from the start menu, “program files” application folder is empty, etc.

Edit:
Going to “add remove programs” and using the repair feature tells me that the application is suspended. Clicking through does seem to have repaired it, but we shall see.

Folder itself is still there, with sub-folders.

Running Windows 10 Pro

Yes. It was for me, but the application was gone (i.e. Program Files/Plex was empty except for a few orphaned files). Plex was no longer listed under the start menu either. Reboot did nothing.

It was listed under “Add/Remove Programs” and I was able to click through and repair the installation which has taken me back to version 1.24.2.4973.

looks like others with the same problem:

Some reporting that you can go to:
…/AppData/Local/Plex Media Server
In there is an “Updates” folder. (Every update you’ve ever done).
re-run this update
It gives a recover option
Some reporting it takes a while to recover, others reporting it taking a few attempts to recover

the update removed my media server only, fixed it by repairing the installation from control panel. Meta Data is fine, phew!

Happened to me as well. Repaired and it seems to be just fine.

Just woke up to find my Plex media server had removed itself as part of an update at 4am. Luckily found this post and fixed it with the repair option running the appdata folder exe.

Looking at eventlog I see various msi installer entries at 4am(ish)

Application 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Update Service Launcher.exe' (pid 3864) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID..

Machine restart is required.

Product: Plex Media Server -- Removal completed successfully.

Windows Installer removed the product. Product Name: Stopping Plex. Product Version: 1.24.2973. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Plex, Inc.. Removal success or error status: 0.

repair worked but only from the updates folder. the entire thing was wiped from my Win10 programs installed. WTF was wrong with that update? It killed my Live TV and DVR too so that is great! Probably have to wipe that again…
