Plex crashing when Live TV is used

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527-740d4c206
Player Version#: All
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun Connect

I appreciate any help in advance.

I was just cruising along on Plex without a care in the world and then it suddenly started crashing. After much debugging, I finally determined that attempting to view a .ts file or attempting to watch Live TV would cause Plex to crash. This setup had been working perfectly for years. Live TV and watching .ts crashes started happening at the same time so my assumption is the errors are associated. I’ve used Chrome, Mac, and Shield clients and they all cause the server to crash.

I’m running Plex on a Windows 10 server w/Plex version 1.18.8.2527-740d4c206

My Plex server log just prior to the crash looks like this:

Jut an update to my original post. The latest update (1.18.9.2571) fixed the crashing that was happening as Plex played .TS type files. I can now stop using MCE Buddy and Handbrake to watch my OTA content.

My takeaways are:

  1. Stop updating on the public channel and go to manual updates.
  2. Keep previous releases of Plex around in order to be able to drop back a release when the next major bug happens.

Good plexing everyone!!
