@ChuckPa safe to update normally again?
I dont like running my pms so far behind for security reasons.
The builds from ‘6715’ and above contain the Nvidia drivers changes.
There is an issue (starting about 2 weeks ago) with saving library changes.
Current PlexPass has the yesterdays ‘crash & burn’ (new installations only) fixed.
Hope the build overnight will have the Library changes fix in it.
I can get you any specific version if you’d like.
Attempted to upgrade, unfortunately turned into this: Hardware transcoding issue - #258 by ChuckPa
Seems like the issue is alive and well.
Downgraded back.
Got some log files to back up that statement?
LOL
I’d love to see them so that if there’s something missed, it can be fixed.
Unfortunately did not keep the logs before downgrading, they were filled with errors about not enough decoder surface, the GPU was only doing a single 1080p HEVC so it was not overloaded.
After downgrading, it had no issues again.
@ChuckPa would you suggest trying again with latest version or continuing to hold off.
In 1.31.2.6810-a607d384f I notice “Converting certain files could be unreliable when using Nvidia GPUs with certain driver versions (#14069)”
If I do update, do I also need to bump my nvidia drivers.
yes. there was a very tiny change which fixed those edge cases
You’re good with CUDA 11.7 drivers unless you need AV1 decoding in the Nvidia.
(Most do not need this yet)
I’m running Ubuntu’s distribution of the Nvidia drivers

and have no problems with them.
I’m not one for ‘bleeding edge’ drivers either (risk of bugs)
Issue appears to be resolved now on latest plex version, thanks for all the help.
