Plex dance (Subtitle version)

Lets say I have a recent TV show in my on deck section of Plex.
As I like english subtitles with english shows I look for or automatically get the srt file.
Now I am watching the show and the subtitles are wrong or outta sync.

Off I go to filebot to download another version.
And also to sublight - with sublight you can play the show with the subtitles to get the right one - if you are lucky)

I do a bit of renaming so I have 3 versions - tvshow.srt, tvshow.en.srt and tvshow.eng.srt

What is the quickest was to get plex to see the 3 new subtitles files?

Scan TV shows library?
Anaylze TV shows library?

Goto the show and refresh metadata?
Goto the season and Analyze?
Goto the actual episode and refresh metadata and analyze.

With Local Media Agent enabled, update the library section. Analysis of the video files is not required. You are only interested in the supplemental file(s)

Thanks Chuck.
My TV folder has 30k episodes so it will take time that I was trying to avoid. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, you asked the question. I gave you the answer. Is it my fault you hoard so much $#&* ? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hoard is a bit heavy!
I am thinking collect!

Would you like some whine whilst you’re waiting for the library scan to complete, SIR ?

… collect my *** :stuck_out_tongue:

It does seem like a waste of time and resources if one must ‘update’ the whole library when it is only one show that needs the update.
Like when a new version of the media, new subtitles, new artwork are added!

I doubt I am unique wanting this as an option!

Goto the actual episode and analyze.
Is sufficient here.

It used to be enough to just enter the preplay page of a movie or episode to trigger the detection of new subs.
