Force update local subtitles (.srt) after replacing subtitle files

Server Version#: 3.83.1
Player Version#:

Hi
I have a TV show including subtitles (.srt), but the subtitles wasn’t correctly synced. I replaced the old .srt files with new correctly synced files (same name), but Plex doesn’t update.
I’ve tried to delete the show, empty trash etc. without help. Any way I can force update? Force updating meta data doesn’t help.
Thanks

Try re-analyzing the show / episode (same menu as “Refresh Metadata”).

If that does not work, then you’ll need to Plex Dance the show.

Thanks - I will try this. Already did, but without “clean bundles” so here we go again

Sadly it doesn’t seem to be working. I still have a huge delay on the subtitles :frowning:
Tested the subtitles on my computer and here there is perfect sync (now) …

I simply uploaded new files to the server (with same name), overwriting / replacing the old files.

I have the same issue - I have added external subtitle srt files to an existing TV Show and it appears to be very difficult to get plex to “see” them so you can select them through the UI.
Tried re-analysing and refreshing metadata for the TV series and neither seems to work.
If they exist when PMS first finds an episode then all is fine.
Anyone know what the trick is or is this a bug. My PMS is on Windows but thought I would not start a new thread.
According to the Plex docs at https://support.plex.tv/articles/200471133-adding-local-subtitles-to-your-media/ "If a Library didn’t have the Local Media Assets source enabled or correctly ordered, the Library must be refreshed to pick up the embedded subtitles using “Refresh All”. See the Libraries guide for details."
But this is madness if we have to Refresh All metadata after adding a few srt files. I have nearly 6000 episodes in all!
However it then goes on to say:
You should refresh a library or individual item if:

  • You’ve changed options for the library Metadata Agent
  • You’ve added “local media assets” (such as artwork, theme music, external subtitle files, etc.)

So this would suggest a refresh of metedata just for the TV series should work - but is doesn’t.

UPDATE - MY BAD - I HAD SOMEHOW DESELECTED LOCAL MEDIA ASSETS (TV) UNDER AGENTS

Thanks for you update - It made me double check my “Local Media Assets” under agents and it wasn’t selected as well !?
I’m sure though that I haven’t disabled it though, so I’m thinking this might something that could have happened during an update or something?
