Plex Dash, can’t upload poster

I’m unable to upload custom poster using Plex Dash (work fine using the web app)

It’s a known issue, will be fixed in the next release.

Perfect, thank you!!

My personal tip is to avoid uploading posters in general. Always store them as jpg files beside your media files – appropriately named.

Only resort to uploading when there is no other way (like e.g. for collection posters).

The reason is that uploaded art is stored in the “metadata bundle” inside the Plex data folder.
If you move your media file, or your server suffers a data loss, the contents of the Plex data folder can get reset. Which will wipe out all manual edits and uploaded posters and subtitles.

If the posters are stored beside the media, they won’t get lost, except when the media files themselves are lost.
And with suitable server configuration, they will get picked up and used automatically, when a new Plex installation is necessary.

I’m using a script that run daily to export poster and background in their respective folder.

This sounds as if each of your folders will get marked as “changed” daily.
Thus, a library scan will peruse all folders (instead of just those with actual new/changed contents) and take significantly longer.

Ah yea, I didn’t think about that.

I think I’ll use your method.

Thanks!
