Its been fine for me for last 2 weeks sofar, I have had a few moments where the connections started to build up but it seems to have sorted itself out after a little while

I haven’t had any issues with 1.24.2.4973-2b1b51db9 so far, no deadlocks yet

Gotta stop jinxing myself, just got a deadlock on 1.24.2.4973-2b1b51db9.
@sa2000 I’ve just put the one dump+connections+logs for the new version in there, I won’t put any more in.

Did you have an Android player on at the time?

I always have multiple Android clients at any time, I don’t think it’s related. Currently it only deadlocks pretty much only over the weekend which makes me think it’s more related to time and some kind of external source.

I got rid of all my Android clients and the problem went away. Hasn’t happened in 2+ months. The issue wasn’t consistent for me but the common denominator was Android.

I am rather pleased to say that its been 2 weeks and other than Plex fully crashing (app shut down) 2 days ago I have not had a connection overload issue at all.

There has been a few times where I would get 80+ connections open but Plex would still work and these would all sort themselves out after about 10 mins, so all in all its defo a massive improvement

That is good to know - may be the fixed locking issue was a factor somehow

Lets monitor for a further 2 weeks and if no deadlocks, I will close the current open issues for your server

I just noticed that you are actually running on 1.24.1.4931-1A38E63C6 and not the new beta 1.24.2.4973 which has a deadlock fix

Lol yep, which is interesting to say the least happy to still monitor on the public build for 2 weeks mind

I would also like to report that since running 1.24.2.4973 I have not experience one lockup since 8/30/2021.

I wish there was still a beta docker release, this deadlock is driving me nuts - seems to be happening all the time for me.

There is a beta Docker release.

plexinc/pms-docker:beta

or

plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass

These two containers are the same thing and to upgrade to the latest release all you have to do is stop and re-start the container and it will automatically pull the new version.

Ah, that was not immediately apparent or maybe its because I skimmed the readme and didnt see anything, Thanks!

@sa2000 I’ve just had a deadlock on the latest version, 1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4.
I’ve added the usual to the OneDrive folder, 369 connections at time of dump.

@morpheus2n2 Is this issue fixed for you?

I am finally going to say yes. @sa2000 I have been running the server now for what 4 to 5 weeks and not a single deadlock has happened now.
My server is getting hit harder than ever before with very very little issues.

Thanks for the feedback - I am going to close the issue I have with the development team for your deadlocks

Last feedback i have from the development team is that there was a thread stuck and it was running sqlite code. Any issues with disks ? any disc errors ? disc repeats ?

I’ve got the databases on a RAMdisk so there shouldn’t be any issues related to disk access or speed.
Other than that one deadlock it’s pretty much stable again for me as well, other than the odd crash here and there - but I’ve got it setup to auto-start when it does so it hasn’t affected anything.
I’d say you can mark mine as closed to and I’ll make a new thread if it does happen again.
