I am using a 6 TB drive attached to my computer. Everything works well. Except when I delete a single show in a series, the whole series gets deleted. I have to recover these from the deleted folder.
Question: how do I get the contents of a single folder in a directory that houses many series shows. When on a series folder how can I see and then pick a specific show in that series?
How are are your show directories set up and how are you viewing them in Plex?
If you are on the episode page you click on the option menu on top right and choose delete.
If on the season page or other view where you see multiple episodes hover on the episode thumbnail and there will be the option menu on bottom right of poster with delete option.
But I do agree that it is safer to just delete them through your computers file system and scan files again so it knows it is gone.
My immediate thought was that he/she deleted a season or entire show when they intended to delete JUST that episode.
I just checked and in fact the “delete” options does exist at both the season and the show level.
I use delete from within Plex all the time and I haven’t had any issues like this. In fact I love the option and am patiently waiting for it to be rolled out in a “tiered” fashion so I can give my wife the ability to delete stuff in JUST a specific library. It can be set up so she can delete what she records, but I set up all the DVR stuff long ago under my account and she can’t delete that stuff when she watches it because she didn’t program it.
Yes, I’ve been using the Delete feature since 1948 and at no time did Plex delete anything I didn’t tell it to - and yes, I’ve had to recover from the Recycle Bin an entire show, after having hit the delete button on the Show Page.
