Plex desktop player keeps crashing/freezing/no audio if left in the background

It’s been going on for as long as i can remember, where plex desktop player can’t seem to stay in the background paused for several hours, otherwise either it will suddenly not play video with audio, or it will play, but extremely poorly, and for some reason, start transcoding it instead of direct play on lan. And as of late, i’ve started to get this error. .

Not sure about pausing for hours. However, there is a problem with the hosted version of Plex Web (app.plex.tv) and the current version of Plex Desktop causing playback errors.
