I thought it was fixed at one point, but if you compare DV playback with Infuse you can see that Plex uses fake DV at times. I think it force triggers the DV logo but is actually playing in HDR.

its using “fake dv”. plex doesnt and apparently hasn’t even tried yet to do it properly. read this post

Some good news from WWDC: Dolby Vision profile 8.1 will be supported natively in tvOS 17 (source).

Plex Sever Version 1.32.6.7557

  • Apple Mac Book Pro M1 Web Play Doesn’t work green hues, VLC doesn’t work either. same issue

  • Apple TV 4k (tvOS 17 )- Doesn’t work green hues

  • Iphone pro max 13 (iOS 16.2) - won’t even play

  • Apple ipad pro 12.9 works (ipados 16.6.1)

Strange…so fix is don’t get DV OR go w/ Infuse? The former seems like the easier fix – PITA to help family members trouble shoot this…

It’s mostly fine on my 2021 Apple TV 4k’s, but definitely not 100% solid yet.
