I have a problem with Plex. I have 562 films in the folder, but unfortunately Plex “only” recognises 560 of them. I’ve been searching for ages but can’t find the two outliers. Can I display them somewhere?
The lost simple check is to filter the library for Duplicates. This will include all items where Plex merged multiple files as different-quality versions of the same movie.
It‘s a bit more complicated to look for „stacked files“ (1 movie split across multiple files). Plex will display those as a single item and play the files in sequence.
It’s probably easiest to find those using your file explorer and searching for files with specific patterns at the end of the file names.
- cdX
- discX
- diskX
- dvdX
- partX
- ptX
Where X is an index / the position of the file in a sequence of files in the movie..

There’s also the more general scenario… Plex won’t add files to a movie library which are named like a tv-show episode (e.g. containing a s01e01 pattern).
