Plex Does Not See Only One TV Series

I spent the day burning my wife’s Anne of Green Gables DVD collection. They include 4 TV Series. Plex did not have any issues adding 3 of the series, but it will not find and add the 4th series (Anne of Green Gables The Continuing Story).

  • I do have the latest version of Plex installed. Version Version 1.18.6.2368

  • I have tried both mkv and mp4 video formats.

  • I know that naming issues are usually the culprit, but I believe I have verified the naming convention is compliant with Plex. Here is how I named the folder and files…

TV Show Anne of Green Gables

Any suggestions, advice, or help would be very much appreciated.

Anne of Green Gables is Season 1, Anne of Avonlea is Season 2, Anne of Green Gables the Continuing story is Season 3, and Anne of Green Gables - A New Beginning is Season 4. You need them named as follows

But to be honest, I have them as single movies in my Movies Directory and a part of the Anne of Green Gables collection.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Always check the TV DB. Nearly all listings for Anne of Green Gables (after the first one) are listed as movies and now TV Shows… so the only way to do it as a TV show is to nest them all together as one TV Show with multiple seasons.

you may need to add (1985) to both the filename and the main directory for them to auto-match since there are other Anne of Green Gables series… But I am not sure since I have them as movies personally…

Thank you for the fast reply. Putting them into seasons worked perfectly!

…Now to go get brownie points with the wife as she has been wanting this for while now on our Plex server.
