In your case it’s the basic “files named like a movie added to a tv-show library”.
If you specifically configure Plex to use TheTVDb as episode order for this show (or the library), the two sequels are listed as the two subsequent seasons. On TMDb (which tends to be Plex’s main source of information), it’s separate mini-series / shows.
The movies on TMDb are also grouped as a collection.
As for naming in general:
if you include the year a show 1st aired as an additional matching hint, add that info straight next to the show title (e.g. Anne of Green Gables (1985) - s01e01)
THank for the info, and i updated Sequel and Continuing Story to this:
Anne of Green Gables S02 The Sequel (1987)
Anne of Green Gables S03 The Continuing Story (2000)
They still don’t scan in.. Is this because on the TVDb their separate episodes, ,where as i only have them in one and two mkv files only? That would make sense because the first mini-series did scan in ok because ther are labeld E01 and E02. separate files.
If you set the show to use the episode ordering of TheTVDb, naming should be like this:
TV Shows <- the folder linked to your library
Anne of Green Gables (1985)
Season 02
Anne of Green Gables (1985) - s02e01-e02.ext
Season 03
Anne of Green Gables (1985) - s03e01-e02.ext
This will result in Plex listing both episodes, both pointing to the same file. Alternatively you could also just name it as s02e01 to keep it to a single record in your season
