I’d be very surprised if any smart tvs don’t have an HDMI-ARC channel that works with an applicable receiver or soundbar.
And if you are such a tech guy you should already know all about that and the upcoming HDMI 2.1 features such as E-ARC.
But even so, current ARC will not pass HD audio such truehd/atmos/dts-hd, and yes shield is the best plex client for that kind of content until new TV’s and receivers are out with E-ARC support.
So like everyone else, you will just have to live with whichever interface you choose and that interfaces limitations/featureset.
@manslayerms, Dude, seriously, use commas and periods more often. It’s hard to read your posts if you do not punctuate. It’s like if someone you were having conversation with spoke without taking a breath or pausing. It makes it hard to follow what you’re saying.
All I’m saying, is that using a smart TV as your main entertainment is not what high-end users want to do. That’s what I’m trying to say. Also people with high-end equipment don’t like to use soundbars either and LG’s best TV that cost $15,000 you have to use a sound bar just to use it and all the high-end enthusiast are pissed. All I’m saying is people that and Plex if they think that it’s important to get the TV apps updated first they’re mistaken.the people that are high-end users are Kodi using smart TVs they’re either going to be using Apple TVs ,Nvidia shield ,or roku’s. TV apps always are terrible and slow.
