hey, currently im moving my plex to a new server. moved data, configured plex server, setup new libraries and everything works well except the (all) specials folders.
on the new server every series specials folder content is merged in season 1 - same structure/naming as on the old server ( no problems there ).
any ideas to tackle the problem ?

Also, use the same naming convention for specials as you do for other seasons.
Should be (at the very least)
/volume1/Storage/Series/Mr Pickels/Season 01/s01e01.mkv
/volume1/Storage/Series/Mr Pickels/Specials/s00e01.mkv

Things change. While it may have worked then doesnât mean it will now. The naming rules have been around longer then two years. The fact it worked for you then is great and you may of just got lucky the first time around.
You are using the same server version as you did 2 years ago? Much has changed since then. Many new features and BUG fixes were implemented.
The folder(SeasonXX, Specials) means nothing if it doesnât have an episode to tie it with.
Here is a great example of this. From my own library. Something I havenât corrected yet.
Btw the name of the series is âMr Picklesâ, not âMr Pickelsâ.
You should write the title correctly, to improve matching.
I meant my library has worked for the last 2 years ( and worked with this server version on my old hardware ) so is should work on the new hardware as well.

Okay. Now try to add an episode in the Season 1 folder.
what did you expect to happen ? there are episodes in season 1 & 2
can play them.
but it looks that the configuration problem also cause some seasons to miss ( all have season names in it ).
You can call it a configuration problem all you want. Plex has a naming convention based on which itâll properly match shows and movies. If you deviate from that, youâre always at risk of things going south. If such a wrong naming schema had worked for you in the past⊠call yourself lucky but donât expect it to be safe.
In the end and for sake of future proofing your library, you might want to consider following the naming conventions.

Well, what I expected at the time I added them eons ago was Plex seeing a season 01 and a season 02 but the way I named them plex sees only season 01 and duplicates of those. I closer look.
