I downloaded a TV show into the folder with other TV shows. However after re-scanning the library thge downloaded files don’t show up in the lists. When I switch to Folders view, I see the directory with the files, but Plex reports it’s empty. What is wrong with it?

It’s just a folder next to the others, which work fine:
Tv shows episodes files need the S01E01 notation mentioned in the guide representing season and episode numbers. Without them then the scanner will think those are not episodes and not know what season or episode to assign them to and so will ignore the files
Oh, I see, thanks. But of course I wouldn’t want to go to all the trouble of renaming files because they’re torrents that I seed back.
Is there a way to just it fallback to files when it didn’t find an appropriate name or something. Just ignoring them seems to be the worst idea.
Plex organizes TV shows based on season and episode. Else things like getting the proper metadata, Continue watching/auto playing the next episode, etc won’t work.
You can of course add those files to an “Other videos” library instead which does not get any metadata, but you will lose benefits of how a TV library works.
