I recently was forced to completely remove PLEX and reinstall it. My media files have not changed at all. Upon recreating my libraries I am finding that most of my TV Shows are not showing up. Some don’t show at all and others will only show a few of the seasons present in the folder.
I have refreshed the library and still no change. When I first add them it shows them being scanned, but they never become visible.
Is there a way to fix this? I know the filenames are correct as these where displayed previously.
Pretty good chance that the Plex agent changed between updates, your files need to be organized using the naming convention outlined in this article to support the new agent.
I followed the naming convention in this article. I was able to get Band of Brothers to display… I didn’t need to add the episode names at the end like in the example. However, following the same format for several other series either didn’t work at all or only displays a few of the seasons that I have.
For example Breaking Bad has 5 seasons. Plex only displays Seasons 2-5 and not Season 1, Dexter (2006) has 8 seasons. Plex is only displaying 6-8. The seasons that are visible do have all the correct metadata (episode titles, etc.)
You don’t add each show under your library but the root directory which your shows reside. So your library should be E:\MEDIA\TV Shows and then plex will scan/add everything under that.
