Hello everyone! I tried to install the plex server on a remote server that I rent, I had to choose linux ubuntu system and I state that I do not understand anything, after billions of attempts with guides something I’m understanding. With a guide I managed to install the server and from the terminal tells me that the server is active. At this point I launch the browser and type myip: 32400 / web etc. etc. and the page opens but continues to search the server is not part of the configuration.
Someone knows something I’m going crazy among several thousand guides!
Sorry its translate with google
is this article of any help?
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288896-basic-setup-wizard/
what exactly is the page showing when you open https://your-ip:32400/web ??
if you have somehow skipped the setup you can still define the server name via Settings > Server > General and create your own libraries manually instead.

I saw the guide but I can not solve it and besides I do not even have the server settings. I show you the screen
first things first…
here’s how to create screenshots from your Ubuntu system
question 1: are you logged in with your account or is that option also not available?

sorry I’m using the smartphone forum and I was comfortable taking a picture.
practically the first time I connected with myip: 32400 / web asked me to register and I entered with fb and immediately after I appeared the plex screen without server installation
hmm… looks like this is an issue with the access.

Nothing … I think I made a mess by installing a thousand different things on the server … I tried everything … the only strange thing is that if I write the commands that suggest with root tells me that the password is wrong but when I have purchased the server gave me an admin username etc etc. and password. I see it really bad because I definitely made a mistake and I will never find out what grrr. I did not want to lose the money of the rental but I do not know how to do it … if maybe you know a way to cancel all the modifications and you have a guide to start again I thank you from the heart!
well… you can always ask your provider to wipe the server and start over if you believe this is it
from https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288586-installation/ (Opening the Plex Web App on a Device Other than the Server Itself):
On a Different Network
If you’re on a different network than the server computer (or the entire “local network” is not in the private network IP ranges), you’ll first need to set up a SSH tunnel so that you can access things as if they were local.
Tip!: This is only necessary for the initial setup. Once you’ve gone through the setup, you can access as normal.

thanks to some other passage and a friend of mine I managed to finally install the server !! now I have to create folders for the right files? How can I do? I also ask you this if you know … I have just taken this external server with 4 tbs of hard disk and I would like to pass the films from my d
hdd … how do I move files? always using ssh? Aruba gave me a plesk pannel, i can use it for transfer file? Thank you and excuse the many questions
You can use sftp (file transfer through ssh). There’s apps which support this instead of doing it all manually (e.g. Transport or Cyberduck)
