History: Been using NextPVR for years, starting to play with Plex as a central “do all” command center for all my media including recorded TV shows.
I have been having a weird issue with series recordings not being able to record because of this:

Which in and of itself isn’t too weird; however, if I manually record a single episode, it records just fine. This seems to only be affecting series recordings that Plex automatically schedules.
Any ideas? For grins I created a new “plex recorded tv shows” folder and have moved all my future recordings to point to this directory thinking that this may be an inherited write permissions issue. If that seems to fix it I will report back (I’ve set up a bunch of useless series recordings so I can start diagnosing this more frequently).

Every so often I get the No Write Access error:

oh, and the internal “drive” is a JBOD mounted as /dev/disk3 on /Volumes/MediaStorage (hfs, local, nowness)
I’ve chmod -R 777 on the /Volume/MediaStorage
The cure to nearly all my recurring recording issues has been to delete the recurring recording, then re-add it. In my case, I had created some recordings and set them to go to existing folders (of the same show) and that didn’t work out so hot so I created a new “Plex Recordings” folder, then modified the recurring recording to that folder, which created a whole new set of issues.
Finally, I just deleted the recurring recording, made a new one pointing the new “Plex Recordings” folder I had made previously and it works fine.
It appears to me that these 2 items are common themes in recording headaches:
Recording to existing folder (i.e. I was already recording This Old House with NEXTPVR, I decided to go all in with plex, pointed it to the existing show folder and it was very flaky hit or miss whether it would actually record or not)
Moving the location it records to under the “record options” for the recurring recording.
There is an issue with modifying an existing recording to point to a new record location. Best thing at this time is to delete the recording and recreate pointing to the new record location.
Confirmed: Delete and re-add the recording solved my problem. I had also changed folder locations in the background. Should have set up a soft link I guess…
