Currently having an issues with Plex DVR whereas I am trying to record a show on Plex DVR which has two episodes a night every other night and it will only record the first episode but not the second which starts 30 minutes after the first one ends.
When I schedule the recording two episodes are scheduled but after the first records it goes to one shown on the schedule.
I am able to record singular episodes of other shows fine.
I experienced a similar problem with Saturday Night Live on NBC. They run 2 new shows on Saturday Night, one at 10:00PM and the (real) one at 11:30PM. My DVR schedule would show 2 planned recordings, but the next morning I would only find the 10:00PM version had been recorded.
It appears this has something to do with Gracenote episode names and Plex (mis)behavior. You didn’t mention your show name. But if you can, take a really close look at the episode titles. You may find that Plex thinks they are they same episode name. And currently there is no way to direct Plex to record EVERY show, regardless of perceived repeats.
FWIW, I have no trouble recording multiple episodes of the same show on the same night when they have clearly unique titles.
You might try recording ‘Individual’ shows after searching your title in the ‘Program Guide’, as opposed to recording a ‘Series’.
Another FUBAR program listing is ‘The Long Road Home (2017)’, episode listings are different between NatGeo (program originator) and IMDb.com and TVdb.com is down for ???
I have no idea where PLEX is getting it’s episode listing info but it’s contradictory of itself, ie: episodes are called out with different names. From the ‘Guide’ S1E4 shows ‘In the Valley of Death’ and after recording S1E4 is called ‘The Choice’, go figure.
Individual recordings don’t work either. I tried that. If you tell it to record the two episodes, then as soon as the first episode is recorded, the second episode due to be recorded is deleted regardless of if it is a series link or individual recording, as Plex thinks they are both the same episode. It’s a Gracenote issue - I raised it as one, but had no response.
It’s got to the point now where I have ditched Plex for DVR and switched to NextPVR - I needed something that works.

Plex DVR uses Gracenote EPG guide data to make its decisions and presentation. Plex Media Server (not DVR) uses thetvdb.com for episode data. It is occasionally contradictory and frustrating.
this used to be the case for me precisely on SNL but somehow over the last couple of months, it fixed itself. Not sure if I did anything to fix it.
